Well, I was totally wrong last night with my American Idol picks. 1/4? Pathetic!! As it is though, we said goodbye to Alaina Whitaker…

…Robbie Carrico…
…Jason Yaeger…

…and my girl, Alexandrea Lushington. Damn.

Hee hee, people look funny when they sing. Ah well, better luck next week.

My my people, the comments have been few and far inbetween lately–let’s pick it up a bit!

I really wish that drama could just leave me alone but for some reason it just seems to be following me around lately. I feel like I’ve been pretty accommodating in helping Gen X out. I gave her plenty of time to get all of her things out. I asked when she could have the remainder of her things out and she informed me it would be last weekend. I told Dr. Mike this info and he planned accordingly and will be moving his things in today. Last night I told her that as of Wednesday night her things would be in the kitchen and on Saturday (the 1st) they’d be on the street. Guess what? If you’re not paying rent, you don’t get to have your things in my place. I don’t care if your name is on the lease–you broke that lease. If you refuse to pay rent but keep your things there, you’re illegally squatting!! I told her this and she threatened to call the police on me if I touched her things. I swear, it’s straight up People’s Court up in here. Needless to say, I took apart her bed and moved her dresser and misc. into the kitchen. At least now Mike can move his stuff in this afternoon and hopefully by Saturday peace will reign again.

I asked my landlord to please send me an application for Mike so that he could sign it (since she said she can’t accept rent from anyone but who’s on the lease) and do you think that she did it? I hate it when people say they are going to do something and then don’t follow through. As of Wednesday the application still hasn’t arrived. Then she thinks she’s going to put a late fee on my rent because Gen X didn’t technically pay and she had to take the security deposit instead. I swear, I just don’t know how to handle this shit anymore. I’m one more drama event away from flippin my lid!!

As you can all see, I was 3/4 last week in my American Idol picks. Let’s see if I can recreate it this week. It was a difficult week to pick but I think I finally narrowed my picks down.

FAVES:

Of course David Archuleta had another AMAZING performance with “Imagine.” Let’s hope the hype around him doesn’t get too big and he stays this cute and humble throughout the entire competition. There are a few really talented guys that don’t enough credit.

I really think that David Cook was great this week. Besides Aruchleta, he was my favorite guy. And is it wrong I think he’s kinda cute?

Brooke White was another one of my favorites this week. I’m still really rooting for Alexandrea Lushington (there’s just something about her voice that I love) but Brooke’s brilliant, understated performance of “You’re So Vain” was the perfect song for her this week. And I can’t help but think that Brooke’s so cute!!

GOING HOME:

This was a really hard week for me to predict but here’s what I think.

I think Luke’s looks saved him last week but after this week’s whiny rendition of “Killer Queen” he’ll be gone.

The second guy is harder to predict. The obvious choice is Jason Yaeger but I think he’ll be saved simply because he was so awful. I’m going to go out on a limb and predict that…

…we’ll be saying goodbye to Robbie Carrico. Between the attitude, the forgettable performance (seriously, does anyone remember what he sang?) and the rumors that he wears a wig, he’s in major danger. Plus, do we really need to hear one more time that he was in a boy band?

As far as the girls are concerned…

The obvious choice is Kady Malloy. Her Britney Spears impression was enough to save her last week but this week her poor song choice and uninspired vocals are going to give her the boot. As with Robbie, I’m going to be bold and predict that…

Syesha Mercado will be bidding farewell to us. I really want to like her a lot, I do!! But she’s not very humble and if you need to pick a song that forces you to belt each week…how much versatility do you have? So I could definitely see her going home and it would be an upset but not completely a surprise. I could totes be wrong on some of these choices but I’m going to be bold and say that’s who the four outsted contestants will be!

I planned this big post on the Oscars but then, like the rest of America, grew completely uninterested with them. Seriously! Was I the only one?! Thank God it’s Thursday because I am ready for the weekend…and hopefully a drama free weekend!

Well first thing’s first–I predicted 3/4 kids ejected from American Idol this week. Go me!! I correctly called Joanne, Amy Davis, and Garrett going home and instead of Jason Yaeger, Colton Berry went home.

Bye Bye Colton! Good luck with your Ellen DeGeneres look alike contests!!

Kelly Kapowski just left this morning and we had a really great visit. We went to see Spamalot, Legally Blonde, Spring Awakening, and Avenue Q and visited WTC, 30 Rock, and a few different neighborhoods so I feel like he got a really great idea of different places in New York. It was awesome to reconnect with him and while it was a little different than I thought it was going to be, we had a blast together.

More drama with the roommate situation but come this weekend everything should be clear and Dr. Mike should be moved in. Ding Dong the witch will be gone. They are exterminating today and tomorrow and part of Wednesday so this morning I lugged the two kittens to Page Six’s apartment. Talk about a sight…me with three bags (my Jack Spade work bag, my overnight gym bag and a bag for the kittens’ stuff) and two cat carriers stumbling down ninth avenue. Luckily Page Six lives only a few blocks away but still…it was drama. Thank God for him I would be totally fucked (Spring Awakening reference!!!) if it weren’t for him.

Hot Damn I love this musical.

Off to get some work done. Hopefully I’ll be able to hollaback later with some Oscar talk!!

Hola. Another season of American Idol, another Top 24. I wish I had time to do a critique of every performer but that so is not going to happen. So each week you’re going to get my favorite performances and who I think is going to go home.

FAVES:

Obviously my favorite boy this week is David Archuleta. In addition to the fact I think he’s adorable, I think he gave the best performance. It’s all about performing the song. Which is exactly why…

…I picked Alexandrea Lushington as my favorite girl this week. Her performance of “Spinning Wheel” was filled with vocal acrobatics and she performed the song with such style and funk that I found myself thinking about it hours afterwards. I think she’s awesome.
GOING HOME:

I think Garrett Haley is a shoo in for going home. He’s kinda creepy, young, inexperienced, and he has that horrible peach fuzz mustache. The second spot is a little harder to call. I could see Danny Noriega going home mainly because last time I heard America wasn’t crazy about drag queens. I could also see Luke Menard or David Hernandez going home for being too forgettable. But my vote is for Jason Yeager. He’s just annoying enough, picked a horrible song, and has that really bad yellow high light in the front of his hair.

The girls are a little harder to call. There were many unimpressive and forgettable performances last night. I’m going to say that Joanne Borgella and Amy Davis are going home, if only for their boring performances. Both are semi attractive in their own way but Joanne suffered from visiting the town of Dullsville too much and just stood there the entire song. I know she’s a big girl but come on, move around a little bit. Amy picked the wrong song, absolutely. In season two Kimberly Locke sang that song and blew it out of the water. Amy was off key from the note 1.
So those are my picks! Come back tomorrow to see if I was right!

I moved from Salt Lake City one American Idol season too soon. If I had stayed I could have seen all of the coverage on my boy, David Archuleta. Is it wrong to love him? I mean, Hilary Duff dated Joel Madden when she was 17 and he was 25, surely David and my love won’t have to be hidden for long. December 28, 2008 can’t come soon enough.

My oh my, what a busy couple of days!! BFF Taylor came from Utah for a little visit and we had such an amazing time. But first thing’s first: I’m on the internet! Well duh, I know I’m on the internet. But listen. Entertainment Weekly’s website, Ew.com does a show discussing the most recent American Idol. Each week they have someone call in who has opinons about that week’s show and you know me–I’m full of opinions. They called me Thursday and asked if I wanted to be on the show and of course I said yes!
http://www.ew.com/ew/video/idolatry?lineupId=1213979429&videoId=1418571082

That is the link to the show. I’m featured about 2 minutes in. Of course I spent about five minutes on the phone with them and they air the minute that I spoke complete nonsense in. And there’s a part at the beginning that came out sounding MUCH more horrible than I meant it to be. You’ll see when you watch. At any rate, it was cool to be involved–I love that magazine!!

BFF Taylor arrived Thursday night really late so we didn’t do anything but Friday we went shopping and then saw Little Mermaid Friday night.

I enjoyed it more than Taylor did but it still was very flawed. Something just didn’t work. Sierra Boggess, Titus Burgess, and Sherie Rene Scott were all pretty amazing but as a whole it didn’t click. I really think it would benefit from another viewing but like I can afford that. Saturday we saw Xanadu (my third viewing) and she really enjoyed it. I’m surprised how well that musical holds up after seeing it multiple times. Sunday we went shopping where we found me a hot little pair of Diesel Jeans!!

Sailors not included. It was much more than I could afford to spend on a pair of jeans but she was intent on finding a nice pair that gave me an ass. And I think we succeded. All in all, it was a fantastic visit and I can’t wait to see her again. I have a one night break and then Kelly Kapowski is visiting. Crazy!!! It’ll be interesting to see him again but we’ve got some really great stuff planned so it should be a great time. I’m super excited for him to meet Page Six–I just wish DC Doug could be here so we could have a mini Utah reunion.

The one and ONLY picture we took her whole visit. Super cute though! Sigh, I miss her already.

Yes ladies and ladies, I attended the Spice Girls concert last night. Holla for a dolla! Due to a connection with a dancer in the show, Page Six and two of his friends and I scored second row seats to the Spice Girls concert in New Jersey! When we arrived we saw the seats were close but didn’t go and see them as we wanted to get to know the Belvedere Vodka lounge a little better. Around 8:15 we ventured down to the floor and discovered we were at the end of the runway, in the second row!! I have been pretty close to the stage at many of the concerts I’ve been to, but this was just unbeleivable.

The show itself was great, and included all of their hits. These five broads certainly know how to put on a show! They also sang their current single, “Headlines (Friendship Never Ends).” Well, apparently friendship does end and it’ll be done as soon at the tour’s over. The show was filled with great dancing and costumes and flashy flashy lights, but no real vocal feats were performed. Mel C, by far the greatest singer in the bunch, proved it with a few rifs here and there. Because we were so close, the seats in front of us were reserved for VIPs. Originally hoping for David Beckham, we had to settle for his offspring, Cruz. Yes, Cruz Beckham was in front of me. I was this close to someone that was created with David Beckhams sperm. VERYNICE!

The best part of this story though–is that Cruz Beckham totally glared at me! The nanny was standing there holding him and he watched his mommy on stage for a bit (really I think he was just mesmerized by her robo-boobs) but for the most part he was staring at me and Page Six. It was very distracting. Now ya’ll know I’m not crazy about kids but I was in a good mood so I waved at him and he furrowed his brow and GAVE ME A MEAN LOOK!! I was so offended! I dare to go out of my way and say hi to a child and the kid just glares at me. Lame. Then he had the audacity to go and poop his pants. I would like to go on record and say that Cruz Beckham? He sucks!

Also in attendance was Melanie Brown’s baby also known as…..the bastard child of Eddie Murphy. It was funny because Mel’s husband, Steven Belafonte, and her nanny were standing there together and he kept holding the baby, then giving it back. Holding it, then giving it back to the nanny. Everytime he did I would say to Page Six: “Here, take Eddie Murphy’s baby.” “Here, give me Eddie Murphy’s baby.” “Here, take Eddie Murphy’s baby.” Hilarious.

So that was the Spice Girls. I’m really glad I got the opportunity to see them before they retire forever and even happier I wasn’t hypnotized by Posh Spice’s robo-boobs. Oh, and a word to the wise? If you’re on a dark, deserted street and you happen to run into Cruz Beckham? Run for your life–cause that bastard’ll kick your ass.

Get ready bitches.

Come Sunday I’ll be watching THE SPICE GIRLS in concert. Now yes I had to sell a kidney to afford the ticket BUT seeing as they’ve confirmed this is the last time they’ll ever be on tour together, I know it’ll be worth it.

In other news…does anyone have a kidney I can borrow?
